Recording Costs for Ariana's Upcoming Album

Ariana has been working on a Deluxe, 2-Disc album titled Under the Covers & Standing By the Window. 

The album spans the events of 2020 through 2022, which grounded the musician with all international flights due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Having been living in London, UK, since 2018, Ariana returned to Canada with only a carry-on suitcase of winter clothing, with the sole pursuit of applying for another Visa to live and work in the UK. When a pandemic was declared only days after her arrival, Ariana found herself simultaneously displaced from her home, community, and partner while also separated from her instruments, most notably her guitar.

Now, nearly three years later, Ariana is deep into the recording process of this 15-track musical project. A combination of years of jazz and folk music study, this album will be released in conjunction with a book of poems from the same period. 



A multi-disciplinary music and video project: Under the Covers & Standing By the Window, is a vulnerable reveal of how one’s mental health can deteriorate when we lose our home, loved ones, and sense of self. An album in two parts; both discs include seven tracks, each single paired with one of the seven phases of Grief. The first disc, "Under the Covers," uses modern jazz/folk-influenced adaptations of other artists’ work, while Standing By the Window includes breathtaking vulnerability in Ariana’s original musical pieces. Through these two parallel storytelling arcs, this album documents the artist's journey from Denial through Acceptance in grief.

This Album focuses on Ariana’s struggle with and eventual triumph over the many obstacles she faces in living with Complex-PTSD while maintaining her sense of identity, artistic expression, and unique brand of feminine folk music.

Absolutely 100% of proceeds from this GoFundMe will be used directly in the album's production, whether through paying musicians for their contributions or through supporting the album production process through snacks, caffeine, or any changes to the production’s schedule or needs.



As part of this project, Ariana will be travelling to the UK in the company of a cinematographer, intending to reclaim her guitar and belongings finally. The cinematographer will document the journey, and the footage will be used in a music video for one of the tracks from the album. Some proceeds may be allocated towards travel to the UK for Ariana and her cinematographer, pending the bulk of the album's recording being complete.
