St. Mary's Ukrainian School Choir sings for Royals We at Karmabank, with the help of the Rugby Portobello Trust, are making a recording of this wonderful choir project by St. Mary’s Ukrainian School in West London, part of the school’s mission to provide comfort and healing for children evacuated from Ukraine. Can you help us to make this dream a reality for the school?
We are proud to continue our support for St. Mary’s Ukrainian School in Holland Park, with a recording of their school choir, thanks to the generosity of the Rugby Portobello Trust who have donated the use of their Amplify Studios.
The St. Mary’s Choir of Ukrainian refugee children performed at Christmas at Westminster Abbey for the royal carol service, personally invited by the Princess of Wales.
The future queen praised the children for their “courage”, describing the school choir as a “wonderful example of how to find pockets of happiness, meaning and comfort” in the face of a conflict.
We hope to hold a launch event for the recording around the time of the Coronation which takes place on May 6th.
We need your help to pay for the Sound Technician, the Sound Engineer, the costs involved with making cover art, logistics, team costs, and to pay for the launch event. The beneficiaries of this project will be St. Mary's Ukrainian School, the Ukrainian Social Club, and the Rugby Portobello Trust.
