Recovering goods for Baby Boy Massey

Hello,
My name is Megan Malcolm. My fiance and I are raising money for the loss of items that were for my new baby boy who will be born in December 2023, plus money that has put us in a setback from both of our vehicles being stolen. On the night of June 23rd, 2023, My fiance and I went to Giant Eagle after leaving urgent care after injuring my foot for some items to make a quick dinner when we walked out of the grocery store, we were taken back by the fact that my 2022 Kia Sportage was missing from the parking lot. After filing a police report at Giant Eagle, we went home to realize that my fiance's car/house keys were in my vehicle along with my paperwork from my urgent care appointment which had our address on it. We contacted the police to let them know that his belongings were in my vehicle. A couple of hours had passed and I went to lie down due to everything going on, this is my first pregnancy and I was trying to make sure I didn't overwhelm myself too much for the baby. Around 1:00 am on June 24th, we heard my fiance's car fly down our driveway and realized the people had come to our house to take his car. We immediately called the police again and made a second report of his vehicle being stolen. His vehicle is a 2022 Kia Forte, it was recovered about 4 hours later with all of our belongings gone and the vehicle damaged. The next day we purchased brand new locks and keys for our house and also a new security system due to the fact they had come the night before so they know where our home is located and also they have the keys that were left in my car which set the fear of them potentially coming back to take my fiance's vehicle again or worse entering our home. Following a day on June 25th, 2023 we both had to take off of work to handle matters such as going to the Kia dealership, we had to ask about getting new keys to reprogram my fiance's car and also find out information on why my car did not have the antitheft system which should have been in all 2022 Kia Sportage vehicles. The manager laughed at us, called us liars and refused to help us. Which resulted in having us go through a third party, which was more expensive to have my fiance's keys remade. As of July 1st, 2023, my vehicle has been recovered but was involved in a string of robberies and is now taken as evidence by Cleveland police, the only thing that they were able to tell me is that my car is damaged which based on that information if I can get my vehicle back is unknown. Everything that we have had to purchase has come out of pocket by my fiance and I. We had just gone shopping the week before our vehicles were stolen to purchase baby items such as a humidifier, a noise machine, baby shower decorations, and baby/maternity clothes. We had to take away from our funds for the baby and my maturity leaves to be able to get the unexpected things we needed not only to be able to drive my fiance's car again but for our safety. We both are full-time workers, and we have been working hard to prepare our lives for our new baby boy. Due to the investigation our insurance does not want to work with us on a rental so we are going to be put into a bind on how we both will manage to get to work. This entire experience has been overwhelming and scary, definitely not something I was expecting to deal with when I found out I was going to bring a new life into this world. We appreciate the love and support we have been given by friends and family, Anything will help us during this hard time and we know with the love and support we will get through it and be able to get where we need to be when we meet our precious baby boy. Thank you all so much!
Love Megan and steve
