Recovering Loss of Liberty Belle Stables Together

Donation protected

On Thursday night, May 30, 2024 I recieved a call that my mothers stables, Liberty Belle Stables, caught on fire which ultimately led to it burning to the ground. Many of you may know my mother, and have had the oppurtunity to share many memories, laughs, and horse rides at Liberty-Belle Stables.

For those of you who don’t know her- her horses are her biggest passion in life and running the stables was her dream. I used to joke that she loved her barn more than she loved me because she spent more time with her horses, and best friend Jess. I shared visits with my mom more frequently at the stables than her own home because the barn brought all of her peace, pride, and joy.

My mom shared her dream with my sisters, and her best friend Jess who dedicated countless hours of hard work, in to making this a dream come true and creating a community within their horse barn family. Even those who wouldn’t consider themselves to be “horse people” felt a sense of belonging at the barn and have shared in countless memories (myself included).

Thankfully, the horses all made it out safely due to Dana, the fire department, PD, and the dedicated community of riders. My family is forever grateful for that. But the Liberty-Belle family is at a loss. Not only did they lose their infrastructure that housed their horses, tack, feed, tractors, and other various farming equipment, but they lost years of blood, sweat, and tears. They spent their last night with the community that they loved so much, battling the repercussions of the fire.

For those of you who love your mother, I hope you never have to experience gut wrenching feeling of watching all your Mom’s hopes and dreams burn to the ground. One thing I can say with certainty, is that if anyone has the determination and passion for horses to overcome such a loss- it is my mother. I hope you will all consider contributing to helping rebuild her hopes and dreams, and giving the “barn family” their community back.

Anyone who has positive memories of the barn- feel free to share below. It would mean alot.
