Recovering Relics of Stamford Fire History
Donation protected
Hi all! We are once again raising some funds to recover some artifacts related to Stamford Fire History. Specifically a 1940's helmet belonging to someone with the initials "J. D". I have narrowed it down to one of these Stamford Firefighters who served between 1930 and 1960:
- James J. Douglas
- Jeremiah J. Desmond
- John F. Dyar
- John J. Dillon
- John F. Daly
- Joseph P. Donahue
Once we get the helmet, we may be able to find additional clues to help us narrow who it truly belonged to. The helmet is costing us $450, but is worth every penny. It is in great shape!
In addition, there are some new offerings of press photos on eBay as well as some patches that we do not yet have. Now that the craziness of Summer has passed, we will be moving forward with the displaying of our collection at Fire headquarters. In addition to the display cabinets being constructed, we want to order some nice descriptive plaques for the display too.
