Recovery and Rehabilitation Process

** UPDATE 10/17/2023 AT BOTTOM ** Hey friends and family!
On the 2nd of September this year, I was bitten by a large dog in my upper right arm. After being rushed to the local ER, I learned that the damage that was done was a lot more severe than initially anticipated.
Over the last week, I’ve undergone cleaning, stitching, infection, unstitching, cutting, poking, prodding and hospital stays. I’ve seen many doctors and am grateful for the care I’ve received.
The skin that they were trying to save turned out to not be viable so I’ve gone through the process of undoing what’s been done. The pain is not one I’d wish on my worst enemy. I’ve attached some picture of my progress but I urge those with weak stomachs to look away.
Unfortunately, due to this injury, I’m unable to work until after this process is complete, which is looking like an ongoing “who knows” and I am not too prideful to ask for help from y’all!
I appreciate your understanding, especially those of us who are a parent, even when life catches you off guard, I still have the young ones depending on me.
Thanks you, my friends and family!

UPDATE: 10/17/23
I had a very successful surgery on the 4th of October. The doctor warned me that the following days were going to be crucial to my graft to take and that it was also going to be very painful and extremely uncomfortable but I was feeling confident!
Initially, all went well but after about a week, I could tell the sight where they took the graft from had quickly become infected.
Don’t worry, it’s gets crazier.
As a lot of you know, about 5 years ago I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis, an auto immune disease, and RA is accompanied by what they call “flairs”.. aka the actual worst pain that’s ever existed from the beginning of time, not to be too dramatic. Well, from the trauma of the surgery and the multitude of medications and all around living hell, my RA flair started and I thought I was dying. Don’t worry, I’m fortunate to have an AMAZING pain management doctor and team for both my RA pain, as well as my initial injury, but this entire experience has overwhelmed me..not just emotionally or mentally or physically but the adult life, providing for these boys with no work or compensation currently. All I think about is the bills, and rent, and medication costs, trying to find and afford childcare… and there it is, the ever present, ruiner of all things — THE PAIN. Somedays it lets me get sleep, somedays it responds well to the medicine and I’m able to shower or eat and start laundry. But still, mostly, the pain is still winning and we are struggling.
If you can continue to give your blessings and your prayers, I still must swallow my pride and ask for your support until I am able to get back on my feet.
This has been a truly difficult journey and I’ve still got a long road ahead of me.
Please, my family and friends, my aquatints, my foes, my constants, and those of you who we don’t to each day but we  always pick right back up where we left off.
Please, I am very much humbled by all of this and with asking for your help, I feel more appreciative of the people who are here and I feel more confident that we will survive.
Thank you so much for your graciousness.
I love you all.
