Recovery Cafe - Hamilton County Fundraiser

Donation protected
Hi everyone! My name is Leif. I'm fundraising for the Recovery Cafe - Hamilton County, a fledgling non-profit that was recently approved by the Recovery Cafe network. Recovery Cafes are safe community spaces that provide support, healing, and resources for those seeking help with addiction, trauma, abuse, mental illness, homelessness, and life after incarceration. Everyone is welcome, no matter what they're recovering from or what stage they're at on their recovery journey.

We need to fundraise $2500 to provide to the Recovery Cafe network to get started. We also need an extra $500 to table at upcoming events in the community and get the word out about the Cafe. Your donations will help get us off the ground and into our new space!

A bit more about us: our five organizers are all recovering from something. We believe that's true for everyone. We've personally struggled with addiction, eating disorders, trauma, and mental illness, and we are all in long-term recovery. Two of us are members of the LGBTQ community. We will be providing resources and queer-specific groups to ensure that LGBTQ community members have a safe space to feel seen, heard, and supported.

Our founder is an Internal Family Systems practitioner - as such, our cafe will be structured around parts therapy. We will have trained recovery coaches on-site to provide emotional support and help our members find resources in the community.

What our Recovery Cafe will offer:

- a safe community space for relationship-building
- games and crafts
- weekly recovery circles for connection and processing
- information about and access to local resources
- snacks and coffee
- empathy, compassion, and friendship
- leadership opportunities for members
- classes that encourage skills-sharing and building
- an Internal Family Systems model for healing

Who we will serve:

The population of Hamilton County is 338,011, with 86.6% of the residents being white.  Due to this lack of diversity, we hope to serve the marginalized communities that often get overlooked or forgotten. We also intend to serve many individuals connected through the Hamilton County Council on Alcohol and Other Drugs. This population includes those on probation, house-arrest, work release, drug court, and recently released from incarceration.

We wish to be open to people seeking recovery of all kinds without discrimination. That means we’ll be open to members seeking support for mental illness, substance use, trauma recovery, homelessness, eating disorders, abuse, and more.

Your donations are the first step in making the Recovery Cafe - Hamilton County a reality. We appreciate your willingness to support healing in our community. Thank you!
