Recovery for Kaylee Rogers

On 7/30/2022 our families lives have changed forever. Kaylee was having fun with her friends and family when she fell off a tube at a normal tubing speed. She was immediately rushed to Mercy Hospital in Redding were she underwent her first brain surgery for a blood clot and bleeding. She was then immediately flown to UCDavis and admitted to the Pediatric ICU. They immediately found new problems where she was then rushed in for more testing then back to surgery for more bleeding and another clot. The doctor informed us it was life threatening. They have shaved her beautiful head and have taken out part of her skull to keep her safe from more swelling. She has a very long road to recovery as they don’t intend on putting the skull piece back in for 3-6 months. She may have some deficits but at this time we aren’t sure what they are yet.
