Those of you lucky enough to know Suburbia, know what a vibrant and magical source of light she is. Through her tireless performances, community organizing, and non-stop hustling, she brings so much beauty and joy to all who encounter her! She is an incredible friend, drag queen, advocate for the queer community, and just an all-around magical human!

As many of you know, Suburbia makes her living performing and entertaining.
Maybe you've caught one of her brunches? Or her tribute shows? Her spectacular handmade costumes? Heard her amazing voice?

The girl NEVER STOPS!

That is unless she is forced to, as she is right now. Our most glamorous and beloved Queen, Thee Suburbia is in dire need of support.

About a week ago Suburbia was admitted to the hospital for emergency back surgery to fix three herniated discs. She is still in the hospital, working hard at recovery, and she needs our help!

She is still largely paralyzed below the waist and may be in the hospital for quite some time. Rehabilitation will be a lengthy process. For a girl who makes her living busting her ass to keep the people entertained, this kind of injury can sink the whole ship!

Between the medical bills, the time spent away from work (time during which she has no ability to make income), basic living expenses, etc. - she's going to need a considerable piggy bank to survive.

In Suburbia's own words...."I'm in the hospital. Yesterday, as I was going to work I sneezed and a tingling pain dropped down my spine and kicked me so hard in the back I was slowly taken down to the floor. I couldn't get up for almost an hour. Within that time my butt and my groin have been numb. That was all at 8 am yesterday.

The doctors did an MRI for almost two hours on my spine and found 3 herniated discs, a pinched nerve and a compression of nerves that controls everything below my waist. I was transferred to Mt Sinai Manhattan to the nerve team because I needed spine surgery ASAP. Also, they said I may have some paralysis happening because of the numbness. Once the MRI confirmed I did I was told I'd be admitted to another hospital. My surgery to fix it all was scheduled for 1 am today.

After seeing my full results from the MRI nurses put me to risk priority and did the surgery at 8pm last night in Manhattan instead. They made an incision in my lower back and broke part of my spine to release the nerves and put it back in. The PA said if I would’ve come any later than I did within 48 hours I could’ve lost all functionality in my left leg.

All of this began a month and 2 weeks ago when my dog passed. I had been crying so much I began to feel a pain from all of the crunching I was doing while crying. I can’t make this up. I've been to the hospital 3 times now - 1 ultrasound, 3 cat scans and a very telling MRI."

All money donated will go directly towards
