Bob Hopper's Recovery Journey of Incredilble Odds

Donation protected
Unexpected circumstances led to my brother-in-law, Bob Hopper, being admitted to a hospital in Spokane, Washington, where he spent two months, while his family resided in Montana.

While away on business, he suffered from multiple mini-strokes, and his family, unable to reach him, grew concerned. They promptly sent an ambulance to his motel room, but the initial assessment appeared positive. However, his condition deteriorated, prompting a second visit. On this occasion, he was found unconscious, having endured several mini-strokes alone.

Swiftly, he was airlifted to Sacred Heart in Spokane, where he underwent a series of tests. The doctors discovered that his body was battling sepsis, which was later revealed to be the cause of his strokes. Furthermore, an infectious mass was found in his heart, and heart surgery became a possibility. His worried family drove several hundred miles to visit him, fearing for his life. However, he defied the odds and began a determined journey to regain the use of his arms and legs, with antibiotics coursing through his veins to combat the infections.

During this period, the doctors suspected a small blister on his toe, due to his diabetes, as the source of the infection. Consequently, his toe was amputated, but the infection had spread beyond that point, boring a hole through his heel and invading the bone.

Concerned that the infection might spread further, and with the antibiotics proving ineffective, the doctors decided to amputate below the knee. He recently underwent the amputation procedure and is currently in the hospital, in the process of recovery. He will soon be transferred to a rehabilitation center to begin his journey towards adapting to his new lifestyle.

Throughout these trying months, he has been unable to provide for his family. This plea is a request for financial help to cover the missed finances during the past and upcoming months as he continues his recovery.

Though we are grateful for his survival against all odds, we acknowledge that this marks the beginning of a new way of life for everyone involved. We humbly ask that you prayerfully consider supporting the family during this challenging time.

Thank you.
