La collecte de matériel puis la collecte de fonds réalisées l'année dernière ont été un réel succès!

Soixante snowboards, fixations et boots sont arrivés au Pakistan début Février 2020 et ont été envoyés dans 4 différentes vallées du Nord du Pays: Hunzas, Madaklasht, Hushe et Shimshal.


Les communautés locales ont pu profiter de leurs nouveaux jouets pendant quelques mois avant la fonte des neiges et l'engouement provoqué sur place s'est avéré être bien au dessus de mes espérances, créant des liens à distance avec de nombreux nouveaux amoureux de la glisse!


Je tiens à remercier tous les généreux donateurs (matériel et financier) de l'automne dernier qui ont contribué à ce succès, vous avez fait de nombreux heureux!

Suite à l'engouement rencontré sur place et à de nombreuses requêtes des communautés locales, nous avons décidé d’aller plus loin en montant un projet d'aide au développement dans la vallée de Madaklasht (Hindu Kush), la plus propice à la pratique des sports d'hiver.




Cet hiver nous espérons nous rendre sur place pour enseigner le ski de randonnée (et splitboard) aux riders locaux les plus passionnés. Ce voyage sera aussi l’occasion de développer l’entrepreneuriat social et les énergies renouvelables avec les communautés locales, tout en identifiant des opportunités d’aménagement inclusif et participatif du territoire. Nous espérons ainsi développer des projets concrets qui contribuent au développement socioéconomique et touristique de la communauté, de manière durable et authentique


Afin de servir au mieux ce projet, nous avons créé l'association Loi 1901 « Zom Connection » ( «connexion par la montagne» en langage local) avec comme but de promouvoir et de développer les activités outdoor dans le Nord du Pakistan tout en respectant ce bel environnement naturel et culturel!

Une collecte de matériel d'occasion de glisse et de montagne a de nouveau été lancée début Septembre en gardant la même idée que l'année dernière: recycler en donnant une 2ème vie au Pakistan à du matériel qui n'est plus utilisé.


Une fois de plus la communauté montagnarde s'est mobilisée et nous avons pu récupérer 2 000 kg de matériel de montagne et de glisse:

- 8 kits splitboards (planche+fixations+batons+peaux de phoque)
- 60 kits snowboards (planche+fixations+boots)
- 12 kits snowboards enfant
- 40 kits skis de randonnée (skis+fixations+batons+chaussures+peaux de phoque)
- 10 kits skis enfant (skis+fixations+chaussures)
- 20 paires skis variés + batons (junior, piste, freeride)
- 15 casques de ski
- 12 kits skis de fond (skis+chaussures+batons)
- 10 kits DVA + pelle + sonde
- 60 tenues gore tex
- 30 doudounes + sous vêtements
- 200 paires de gants
- 300 bonnets et autres
- 60 masques de ski + lunettes soleil
- 20 tenues ski enfants
- 45 paires de patins à glace
- 80 protections de hockey (culottes+genouillères)
- 15 crosses de hockey
- 30 casques de hockey
- 20 paires de chaussures d'alpinisme
- 80 paires de chaussons d'escalade
- Crampons, piolets, baudriers, casques d'alpinisme et plein d'autres choses...


Afin de pouvoir acheminer tout ce matériel à destination, nous avons de nouveau besoin de votre aide.

Nous avons budgétiser cet envoi de matériel à 5 000 euros:

- Achat matériel d'emballage écologique et durable 500 Euros
- Achat matériel d'occasion pour compléter certains kits 500 Euros
- Transport matériel Chamonix-Islamabad (2 Euros/kg) 4 000 Euros

En participant à cette collecte de fonds, vous participerez au bonheur glissé de nombreuses communautés locales ainsi qu'au développement durable des sports de glisse dans un pays trop souvent et injustement dénigré!

The gear collection and crowdfunding carried out last year were a real success!

Sixty snowboards, bindings and boots were shipped to Pakistan early February 2020, and reached 4 different valleys in the North of the country: Hunzas, Madaklasht, Hushe and Shimshal. The local communities were able to enjoy their new toys for a few months before the snow melted and the excitement generated over there turned out to be far beyond my expectations, forging long-distance bonds with many new mountain lovers.

I would like to thank all the generous donors (gear and financial) who, last fall, contributed to this success… You have put a smile of many faces!


Following the great enthusiasm encountered and the many requests from local communities, we decided to go further by setting up a development project in the Madaklasht (Hindu Kush) valley, the most suitable for the practice of mountain activities.

This winter we hope to go there to teach ski touring and splitboarding to the most passionate locals. During this trip, we will also explore ideas to develop social entrepreneurship and renewable energies with the locals, while identifying opportunities for inclusive and participative planning. We wish to work with the motivated and inspired locals to develop concrete projects that contribute to the socio-economic and touristic development of the area, in a sustainable and authentic way.

To make this project as effective as possible, we launched “Zom Connection” (“mountain connection” in local language), a registered not-for-profit association, aiming to promote and develop outdoor activities in northern Pakistan, while respecting their amazing cultural and natural environment!

A crowdsourcing of second-hand riding and mountain gear was launched at the beginning of September, keeping the same idea as last year: to recycle gear that’s not used anymore, by giving it a second life in Pakistan.


Once again the mountain community got involved and we were able to recover 2,000 kg of mountain and sliding equipment:

- 8 splitboarding packs (board, bindings, poles and skins boots?)
- 60 snowboard packs (boards, bindings and boots)
- 10 snowboard packs for kids
- 40 ski touring packs (skis, bindings, poles, boots and skins)
- 10 ski packs for kids (skis, bindings and boots)
- 20 pairs of skis and poles (freeride, piste, and junior)
- 15 ski helmets
- 12 cross-country skiing packs (skis, boots and poles)
- 10 avalanche rescue kits (beacon, probe and shovel)
- 60 Gore Tex outfits
- 30 down jackets and underwear
- 200 pairs of gloves
- 300 beanies and accessories
- 60 goggles and sunglasses
- 20 outfits for kids
- 45 ice skates
- 80 ice hockey impact shorts and body protections
- 15 ice hockey sticks
- 30 ice hockey helmets
- 15 pairs of mountaineering shoes
- 60 pairs of climbing shoes
- Crampons, ice axes, climbing helmets, harnesses, and many more accessories...


To bring this equipment all the way to Pakistan, we need your help!! We’ve estimated that the total cost of shipping should be around 5,000 euros, including:

- The purchase of ecological and sustainable packaging material (500 Euros)
- The purchase of some second-hand equipment to complete a few kits (500 Euros)
- The transport from Chamonix to Islamabad (4 000 Euros)
