Brian Shockey: Hit and run
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Brian Shockey. Several days ago, my dog, granddaughter and I were struck by an SUV. The woman who was driving talked to me and said, “we don't need to call the police, do we?'', then also stated that she didn't have a license. She then said she would move her vehicle off the road, which was the last I've seen of her. My granddaughter was only bruised, so she ran home to find the dog, who had been hurt. The dog went to the vet hospital, and I went to the hospital as well. Luckily, my leg was not broken, but I have a large hematoma that causes severe pain if I try and stand on it, so I am in a wheelchair for the next while, waiting for my leg to repair. My Border Collie Trina has ten stitches on her head, cuts on her leg, and yelps when you touch her right side. She has been to the vet three times and just got her stitches out. Unfortunately, the police have been unable to find the woman who hit us, so there is no insurance to replace my scooter. That is why I am coming here for help. I use my scooter multiple times daily to run my dog, get groceries, and go to events. I can't walk much anymore, so my scooter is my mobility. I usually buy my scooter second-hand, as a new scooter is $6200.
