Red Dog Books - Relocation Fund

This is the hardest announcement we have had to make. This has come to be a huge surprise to everyone. The current @RedDogBooks location is closing.

We opened our doors in 2017 and thanks to you and those who support us the last 8 years have been the best 8 years we have ever had being able to follow our dreams and support the community in ways that were unconventional at the time and influencing other companies to follow suit.

We would like to state upfront we weren't given a reason why they terminated our lease.

We will say we need YOUR help to save the bookstore and find another place to call home. We had a lot of customers request us to start a Go Fund Me. So we have. Once we move we have a new strategy on how we'd like to supply the community with books, continuing our work with volunteers, on the job training, donating to non-profits and schools. It's actually the strategy we had already begun implementing in the beginning of the year. This will include some of the lowest prices on Used and New books and media you'll be able to find.

During our search this week we came to a full understanding that rental prices are nowhere near as affordable as they once were, pre-pandemic. We sat and estimated the cost, comparing the what it took to move the prior store, build this one, and rental/deposits costs. It is not a cheap venture. We know we can do it, though. All great things do come to an end, BUT we don't believe this is the end for us. Knowing our avid readers, we are instead asking our customers to help us into our next chapter.
