Our Vision

To develop a church
• Centred on Jesus Christ, built on prayer and the preaching of the
Word of God
• Welcoming children and families, singles and the elderly
• Reaching out and impacting the wider community

This is our beautiful old church which we outgrew 10 years ago.

What are we building?
We are building a multi-functional structure that will allow our ministries
to grow. It would be a building that could host evangelistic events and
community outreach as well as a hub for christian conferences serving
other churches.

This is the modest new church with a capacity of 500 that we are fundraisng for.

Why are we building?
Our church attendance has grown from 25 to up to 200 since 2001 and
we have quite simply outgrown our current make-shift building. We
had hoped to start building in 2008 but due to the economic downturn
we were unable to proceed. We could do so much more!

This is the prefab that seats 250 and which is now bursting and ageing after 10 years of constant use.

Budget
The fully completed project will cost 1.5 million euros. And the
GOOD NEWS is - we have already raised over €815,000 - that is 54% of the budget. But this expanding church where God is on the move needs to find a further 46%. Our fundraising efforts have been blessed to date and will receive a fresh impetus this September/ October with announcements in the church and on our website of fresh plans and schemes for all to participate following prayerful consideration.

We are prayerfully and actively seeking partners to make this a reality.

Our Current Ministries
Redcross has always seen the value in running a variety of ministries,
not just for regulars but to impact the wider community. One of the
highlight ministries we run is Friday Club which started over 30 years
ago and embraces children aged 4 to 12. During Easter we run a
holiday club which has an attendance of up to 100 primary school
aged children, mostly attended by families from outside of the church
community. The Girls Friendly Society, the Senior’s Group and the
weekly parents and toddlers group are pivotal to our community
ministries, as are the regular house groups, and our weekly healing
ministry evenings. Redcross Church also has a vibrant youth group.
Over the years many of our youth have gone on to serve overseas or
in churches elsewhere in Ireland.

Recross is located south of Wicklow Town and 75km south of Dublin,
between the Wicklow mountains and the Irish Sea. It is close to
Glendalough, the home of St.Kevin, an anchor point for the Christian
faith in Ireland. Redcross Church is God-centred, biblically driven and
prayerfully led by Roland and Susan Heaney.

Rico Tice

Associate Minister of All Souls Church, London, co-author of Christianity Explored
“I have visited Redcross on a number of occasions as it is my brother’s church. I have always found it to be a vibrant church and it has been a privilege to preach to the congregation, who are not only hungry for God’s Word, but are also bringing friends to hear the Gospel. I am, however, acutely aware that the ministry is limited by their temporary building, and so I’m convinced a new building will be very well used for the glory of Christ.”

Emily and David Morrissey

A family currently worshiping at Redcross
“David and I, along with our four young children, are so grateful to be part of Redcross Church Community. It has become a fundamental part of our family life. The Children’s Ministry on a Friday evening and Sunday morning enables our children to encounter God, learn about the amazing things He has done for them and develop safe and healthy relationships.”

Stephen O’Neill

Member of the Youth Group now in full time ministry
“I went to Redcross from the ages of 8-18. This had a huge impact on my faith with it’s investment in both children and youth work. I made my own decision to become a Christian at 15 thanks to this. Because of the church’s ministry and subsequent effect on my life I made the decision to go and study at a ministry school. This prepared me for telling teenagers about Jesus which I am currently doing on a full time basis.
