Alex is known as a energetic happy 7 year old who loves to play video games, basketball, track, the 49ers, the Warriors and anything that involves outings with his 5 brothers and sisters . This has been a painful journey for Alex but he still has kept his great sense of humor and his giant smile that encourages us all.
May 16, Alex was hit by a truck in front of his school in Redding. After having his accident, they put a walking cast on his foot, but his leg became infected with open wounds. He was having wound care for a few weeks but it wasn't enough.
June 28, Alex and his parents met with a surgeon to pursue a more aggressive route and that was when he was flown to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. At this point Alex's infection was so bad that the blood wasn't pumping to the heal so the bone was exposed, infected and dying.
July 7, Alex has had his 3rd surgery, it lasted 7.5 hours and was called a reverse artery flap. It will take 2 weeks to find out the outcome of this last surgery and that being the best case scenerio will involve many surgeries after that. Alex has been told by the doctor that they are going to do everything they can to save his foot.
Alex's Go Fund me account is needed to help with expenses. His family has lost income from staying by his side, the expenses of travel since they have Alex in Oakland and 5 kids here in Redding. They are a loved family in Redding that has done what they can to help others and need your help at this time.
