Dear Supporter!

We hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. We are reaching out to you on behalf of 6th Ward Historically Black Community Cultural Center (6th Ward HBCCC), a grassroots organization dedicated to revitalizing and transforming our neighborhood into a thriving community for all. Our mission is to address the blight in the 6th Ward neighborhoods left from the 1971 Urban Renewal Project. Prior to Urban Renewal, the 6th Ward was alive with various small businesses including day care, restaurants, grocery stores, barber shops, beauty shops, a shoe shop, a doctor, a furniture store, a skating rink, and even a drug store. We also had our neighborhood elementary/high school (College Hill School), which burned to the ground in during the integration of schools in the mid-1960s. We want our neighborhood to be redeveloped and to catch up with the rest of the growth and development taking place in our city, Cleveland, TN.

Our Vision: Rebuilding a vibrant, beautiful and engaged 6th Ward Community.

Our Mission: The revitalization of the 6th Ward area in Cleveland, TN, providing the residents a healthy and safe environment, green spaces and sidewalks, business and economic development opportunities, affordable and/or refurbished housing and transportation, health and safety awareness, job creation, educational opportunities, and a better quality of life.

Our Ask: To begin fulfilling our mission, we need your help and support in raising $645,000 in the next 60 days. We invite each of you to join us in rebuilding our community.
Through this GoFundMe campaign, we intend to raise funds to rebuild our neighborhoods and create an inclusive environment that fosters growth, opportunity, success, and, most importantly, hope for a better future. We want to establish the following:

1. Childcare Center: We aim to establish a state-of-the-art childcare center, enabling parents to access safe, affordable, and high-quality care for their children while they focus on work or personal development.
2. Small Businesses: By offering start-up grants, incubation programs, and mentoring support, we aim to nurture local entrepreneurs and establish a vibrant small business scene that generates employment opportunities for our residents.
3. Transportation: Establish reliable public transportation services that connect our neighborhood with key areas, enabling residents to commute easily, find employment, and access healthcare and retail facilities conveniently.
4. Health Facilities: Facilitate the construction of a dedicated health center, promoting preventive care and essential medical services.
5. Grocery Store: Facilitate the construction of a full-service grocery store that offers fresh, nutritious food at affordable prices. This will enhance food accessibility for elderly, low-income, and vulnerable community residents.
6. Community Engagement Cultural Center: Establishing a vibrant community hub is vital for fostering connections and empowering individuals. Our envisioned community center will serve as a melting pot for recreational activities, educational programs, and cultural events that will actively engage residents of all ages and backgrounds.

We understand the importance of realizing such an extensive redevelopment plan, and we believe that with your support, our vision can become a reality. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a substantial difference in the lives of countless individuals within our community—you can be the catalyst for sustainable change.

To stay transparent and accountable, we will provide regular progress updates, ensuring that our supporters are informed about the impact of their generous donations. Your belief in our cause will not go unnoticed, and we are more than willing to explore ways to recognize your contribution, such as prominently displaying donor names within proposed community spaces or acknowledging your support in our newsletters and social media platforms.

We kindly appeal for your assistance in rebuilding our community, transforming it into a place where every resident has access to the resources they need to thrive. Please consider making a donation and sharing our cause among your networks. Together, we can breathe new life into our neighborhood, paving the way for a brighter and more inclusive future.

If you have any questions or would like more information about our organization or specific plans, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and generosity.
