Jackie Stanfill Memorial Redwood Tree
Our world was shaken by the loss of Jackie Stanfill on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. She was an outstanding member of the community, who both made a difference in everyone's lives and did so with quiet competence. There would always have been one more thing to undertake had death not interrupted.
One of Jackie’s sacred places was Prairie Creek State Park, where she communed with the redwoods she loved and spent days with her family camping among the trees and watching for Roosevelt Elk.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, you help dedicate a redwood tree to Jackie through Save the Redwoods League and provide conservation/restoration efforts in her name through Redwoods Parks Conservancy. The first $2600 raised will be donated to Save the Redwoods League in exchange for a single redwood tree dedication to Jackie. The fees charged by GoFundMe will be covered by an anonymous donor, making your entire gift support the tree. Any funds above $2600 will be donated to Redwood Parks Conservancy’s fund for the Mill Creek Nursery that supports restoration planting of redwoods and other species in all the parks of RNSP including Prairie Creek. That will include planting of a redwood seedling in Jackie’s name in a restoration area. RPC will provide Jackie’s family the location of the tree(s) and a video of the planting.
