Donation protected
- It brings me the utmost joy to announce that between the Go Fund Me and private donations we have met our goal to purchase the track chair for Reece! Any additional funds raised will go towards his rehab therapy! The good Lord has blessed this effort and there has been an overwhelming response! I and the Watson family cannot thank you enough for being a part of this life changing opportunity for Reece! It has truly been a humbling experience! The chair will be ordered next week and should arrive in 12 to 14 weeks! We will post pictures and videos when it arrives! Thank you!
Hello friends, I am reaching out to ask for your help in making a dream come true for a very special young man, Reece Watson. Reece was involved in a very serious and life changing car accident back In March of 2021. He sustained a significant brain injury. His full story is attached in the link below. The Watson family has been in search for a wheelchair that would enable Reece to enjoy the outdoors again. I reached out to them and explained that he needs an Action Trackchair! https://actiontrackchair.com/. This awesome machine would be life changing for Reece and would allow him and his family to enjoy the outdoors/family vacations once again! This chair truly changed my life back when I was battling some depression after my accident. It gave me the spark that I needed mentally to get me to where I am today. Most people can’t relate but when it comes to brain and spinal cord injuries, quality of life moving forward is everything to us. The mobility, independence, and pure joy that this Trackchair will bring to Reece and his family is priceless! Please help me make this possible for this wonderful family by donating and sharing this post! I have started a GoFundMe so that anyone can participate no matter where you are located! There will also be availability to donate in person! Please direct message me for those details! $22,000 is the cost of the chair but any excess amount will go towards Reece’s future medical expenses. If you are unable to donate, I completely understand but please share the post so that we may reach as many people as possible! Reece's story is below! Thank you!
Here is his story written by his family. "Reece was a freshman playing baseball at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, Ga. Friday, March 5, 2021 he was headed to visit his sister Rylee and friends in Statesboro, Ga when he was involved in an automobile accident. He was life flighted to Augusta University where he remained for the next month due to severe head trauma and other injuries. Reece sustained a grade 3 Diffuse Axonal Injury and we were told by a doctor that he had irreversible permanent brain damage and he will never wake up. He also told us he will only live with the help of a ventilator and feeding tube. Although this news took our breath away and broke our hearts completely, we could never come to peace with following the doctor’s recommendation of taking Reece off the ventilator on day 3. We spent a lot of our time in prayer, desperately begging God for guidance and as a family decided that we would put Reece and his entire journey at the feet of Jesus. On day 6 God sent us a new doctor that explained the severity of Reece’s injuries to us again. Although he could not promise us anything, what he did recommend was that, “we fight until God says fight no more.” At this point, we felt the peace we had been begging for and knew God had a plan, even though we didn’t understand and knew we may never understand on this side of Heaven. We relied on our faith, which was very very difficult at times, and accepted God’s love, grace and mercy brought to us by family, friends and even complete strangers. Reece was taken off the ventilator on Day 18. Praise God! On April 6, 2021, Reece was transferred to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Ga into the Disorders of Consciousness Program. The Shepherd Center was amazing and his team immediately went to work. On day 104, Reece emerged and was considered fully conscious. Praise God for another miracle! Reece continued to make progress and remained inpatient at Shepherd Center until August 5, 2021 when he was transferred to Shepherd Pathways (Shepherd Center Outpatient Program.) On September 30, 2021, almost 7 months from the day of the accident, we brought Reece home. Although we had no idea what each day ahead would look like (and still don’t), we were committed to continue to rely on our faith and seek JOY every single day by focusing on the positive and God’s unending faithfulness! Reece has good days and some not so good days but we hold tight to our promise to help give him the best quality of life possible. He is a fighter and amazes us every day!"
