Remembering Baby Reece

June 11, 2016 was the day. It was a scheduled happening. Mommy-to-be was ready to go. The car loaded down with all the brand new baby gear. Generations sitting in a room waiting the arrival of the first great-grand baby; Baby Reece.
Haley is my neice, my sister Tonya's daughter. She was expecting her first son on June 1st. Her pregnancy was exactly how it ought to have been; a healthy growing boy and a fast growing belly on mommy. June 1st came and went, but Baby Reece wasn't quite ready so the new date was June 11th. This time it was a scheduled, all natural birth (brave girl).
Aside from the normal discomforts all was going well. Haley was handling the contractions naturally, not resting much but that is expected. Dialation began to slow and the contractions became more exhausting. Around 6 am on June 12th, the nurses convinced Haley that an epideral would be a great benefit as it would allow her some much needed rest for when it was time for Baby Reece.
My sister, Tonya had finally fallen asleep when she was woken up by her youngest daughter as a team of nurses rushed to Haley's bedside. Baby Reece's heartbeat was dropping, fast. In an instant Haley was being rolled away on a hospital bed reaching out for her mom, not knowing what was happening.
An emergency C-section delivered a beautiful 9 pound 2 ounce baby boy. A head so big he needed a bigger cap. The cutest of button noses. A perfect baby boy; Reece Thomas Stevens. Baby Reece was born with a faint heartbeat but never took his first breath. While we do not have a practical explanation, it is clear that Baby Reece was simply to divine to remain here on Earth. We waited to meet you on that day, we can wait a little longer.
Any support for the funeral in honor of Baby Reece is greatly appreciated.

Haley has quite the journey to acceptance and removing the blame from herself. Please leave any words of experience or support that may assist her in this journey below. Support is all we have to offer her.
From our entire family, we thank you for taking the time to read about Baby Reece and his mommy, Haley.
