JULY 19, 2025, Public Announcement from Go Green Eritrea

We wish to inform our supporters and the public that we have been advised to pause our public fundraising campaign by Mr. Berhane G. Solomon, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the State of Eritrea in Washington, D.C. This advisory is due to the absence of official approval from the Government of the State of Eritrea. Go Green Eritrea sincerely appreciates the guidance and direction provided by the Eritrean authorities.

We respectfully appeal to the relevant officials to reconsider our proposal, as we believe the “Making Eritrea Green” initiative represents a vital step toward promoting environmental sustainability and agricultural development in Eritrea. Project Status This is not a finalized decision.

We are allowing time for the authorities to thoroughly review and

reconsider our initiative. We remain optimistic and ready to launch the pilot phase as soon as official approval is granted. Fundraising Pause Effective immediately, we are no longer accepting donations through GoFundMe or any other fundraising platforms.

Funds Raised & Use

We are in the process of finalizing our financial reporting for the Go Green Eritrea initiative. To date, approximately 82% (USD 24,422.88) of the total funds raised have been used to support key project activities, including: Research missions to Panama, Thailand, Brazil, and Guyana Airfare, Uganda also accommodation, and local transportation Laboratory testing and sample analysis Procurement of equipment. Shipping and logistics for coconut seed imports. The remaining funds will be reimbursed to research team members who personally covered costs related to international travel and project

implementation. Our Commitment

We deeply regret any misunderstandings or miscommunications that may have occurred. Our sole intention has always been to contribute meaningfully to Eritrea’s development through lawful, transparent, and cooperative efforts. We remain fully committed to adhering to all legal and governmental protocols and operating with complete transparency and accountability. Go Green Eritrea remains hopeful that this meaningful initiative will gain the necessary endorsements and looks forward to a positive resolution.
