Reforestation in Eritrea ዳግመ ኣግራብ ኣብ ኤርትራ

Dear Eritreans communities around the world.

My name is Yonas Embaye, and I am an Eritrean-Canadian citizen residing in Ottawa, Canada. I am excited to share my project aimed at combating climate change in Eritrea through tree planting.

After conducting research on mahogany and coconut trees, my dream is to plant coconut trees in every area of Massawa, and throughout the Eritrean islands. Our ancestors cherished a green Eritrea, and I believe we can restore that beauty. Eritrea has lost over 2 million trees due to war and climate change, and I am committed to helping our country regain its natural landscape. My goal is to plant 5 million trees each year.

I recently had a productive discussion with the Ministry of Agriculture in Eritrea. They are willing to provide a laboratory site, human resources, and accommodation for this project. However, we require financial assistance to purchase materials, set up research laboratories, acquire vehicles, and bring seeds from around the world.

ኣብ ኣግራብ ማሆጋኒን ኮኮናትን መጽናዕቲ ድሕሪ ምክያደይ፡ ሕልመይ ኣብ ነፍሲ ወከፍ ከባቢ ማሳዋ፡ ከምኡ’ውን ኣብ መላእ ደሴታት ኤርትራ ኣግራብ ኮኮናት ምትካል እዩ። ኣቦታትና ሓምላይ ኤርትራ ኣኽቢሮምዋ እዮም፣ ነቲ ጽባቐ ክንመልሶ ንኽእል ኢና ዝብል እምነት ኣለኒ። ኤርትራ ብሰንኪ ኲናትን ለውጢ ክሊማን ልዕሊ 2 ሚልዮን ኣግራብ ስኢና ኣላ፡ ሃገርና ድማ ተፈጥሮኣዊ መልክዓ ክትመልስ ንምሕጋዝ ቃል ኣትየ ኣለኹ። ዕላማይ ኣብ ዓመት 5 ሚልዮን ፈልሲ ምትካል እዩ።

ኣብዚ ቀረባ እዋን ምስ ሚኒስትሪ ሕርሻ ኤርትራ ኣፍራዪ ዘተ ኣካይደ። ነዚ ፕሮጀክት ዝኸውን ናይ ላቦራቶሪ ቦታ፣ ዓቕሚ ሰብን መንበሪን ንምሃብ ድልዋት እዮም። ይኹን እምበር ንዋት ንምዕዳግ፣ ላቦራቶሪ ምርምር ንምቛም፣ ተሽከርከርቲ ንምጥራይን ካብ መላእ ዓለም ዘርኢ ንምምፃእን ገንዘባዊ ሓገዝ ንደሊ።

ነዚ ተበግሶ ክትድግፉ ምስ እትደልዩ፡ ዝከኣለኩም ክትልግሱ ኣብ ግምት ኣእትውዎ። ኩሉ ኣበርክቶ ንኤርትራ ክትስስን ኣብ ምሕጋዝ ለውጢ የምጽእ።
