Reform UK: Hitchin Constituency Campaign Fund

2024 is a pivotal moment for us all. It's not the year of just another general election. It is a chance for us to stand up for our beliefs. Our chance to vote for what we truly want, not just settle for the "least bad" option. It's our chance to make a real difference.

2024 is our opportunity to send a strong message to parliament and say:

• NO to the failed two-party system.

o The Labour, Conservative and Liberal parties provide no choice at all. They are all international liberalists who put themselves and their ambitions on the global stage ahead of us and our families. Together, these political parties have allowed our culture, our heritage, our history, the very fabric of our society to be threatened, and the things we value, like tolerance, respect for others and the rule of law, to be undermined. Everywhere you look, you can see Britain is Broken, and the fault is entirely theirs.

• NO to mass legal immigration –

o In the two years ended 30th June 2023, UK net immigration was a staggering 1,279,000 people.

o To put this into context, it means building 12 towns the size of Stevenage or 6 towns the size of Luton to house them, and this is on top of the 1.4 million homes we are already short of our current needs.

• NO to Illegal immigration.

o In the last two years, over 100,000 illegal immigrants have arrived in the UK. Again, to put this into perspective, it means building a town the size of Stevenage to house people with no right to be here. The annual cost of looking after all the immigrants who are here illegally is estimated at £5.6 bn a year. To give you an indication of what this means, it is the equivalent to one-third of all the money the government spends on housing and utilities each year (£17 bn a year).

o This year, your government went into the market to rent 26,000 homes to house 50,000 illegal immigrants, distorting the housing market. Instantly, they made it very much harder for the people who were born here, who pay their taxes here, and who contribute to our society to get a home of their own and start a family.

• STOP damaging our environment and public services.

o The impact on our environment, our living standards and our culture from mass immigration is devastating. However much they tax us, there is no chance of any government providing decent public services, including a thriving NHS, if it doesn't control immigration.

• NO to Net Zero

o This will save £75 billion a year for each of the next 26 years,, which is the estimated cost of the infrastructure that that Net Zero requires. This is 1.35 times the amount we currently spend on our defence each year (£55 billion). But it also ends our government's interference in our lives, for example, dictating the boiler we buy to heat our homes or the car we choose to drive.

• NO to subsidising the Renewable Energy Industry

o These subsidies take money directly out of every family's pocket and puts it straight into investors' hands, at the same time as we pay some of the highest energy prices in Europe.

Unlike mainstream parties, Reform UK does not have oceans of funds. This is because it is powered by ordinary people, not by banks, large corporations, or trade unions.

The support group we are assembling to fight the next election is desperate for funds to elevate our campaign to ensure it has the greatest impact. We already have a Reform-branded gazebo for our stall's campaign, but we need so much more if we are to put up a reasonable challenge to the other mainstream parties, each of whom is confident of winning this constituency. It is a true battleground seat. It is why we have a real chance of winning here.

For this reason, we seek to raise £10,000 to maintain a level playing field with the other main party candidates who are already amplifying their message. We need to do the same.

£10,000 works out at spending just 14pence to communicate with each voter.

Here's how we plan to spend the money:

Leaflet printing and other marketing material £7,000.

Social media advertising: £2,500

Boards and Display Banners: £500

I am committed to this campaign in terms of both time and finances, but to achieve the impact we need, I really do need your support.

Every penny donated will go to our campaign and will be accounted for in accordance with the strict expenditure declaration regulations that apply during an election.
