Demand Comprehensive Reform of Family Court System

We begin with a story which shines a spotlight on a grave injustice. A personal tragedy compels this call for radical change in our family court systems. Two cherished sons were taken away by the courts based on false allegations causing immense harm, trauma, and loss - both emotional and financial. The loss of a home, almost all assets, and a crushing cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars led to three years of grief and psychogenic seizures from the unendurable trauma.

This unspeakable travesty occurred even though evidence indicated the parent who filed a silver bullet divorce had five acknowledged mental health disorders, a history of drug and alcohol addiction, previously pleaded guilty to domestic violence, and was predominantly absent for the majority of the marriage. Meanwhile, the dispossessed parent had no record of misconduct.

The family court system, in its current state, gravely undermines children's and parents' rights to equal time and integrity. This story, unfortunately, is not unique, and reflects systemic problems in the courts which have far-reaching consequences.

Our demands are focused on protecting the interests of the family while ensuring justice, transparency, and sensitivity. These reforms include removing judicial immunity for irreparable harm caused by lack of due diligence, refunding time lost due to ungrounded precautionary judgments, shielding parties from false, damaging allegations, all time that was taken being given back to parents stripped of their time on precaution to repair the severed bonds, and implementing fines for individuals and attorneys responsible for such false claims.

Moreover, we must make compulsory education on elements like coercive control, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, narcissism, and abuse mandatory for law practitioners to better equip them in handling such sensitive cases.

It is critical that we as a society provide a voice for those wronged by the system. A demand for radical reform in the family court system can ensure that no parent or child is unfairly deprived of their rights ever again. Please support this mission for justice.
