Refugees & Immigrants Make Gear Against COVID-19

Tax deductible

Refugee Artisan Initiative (RAI) seeks to end the pervasive racism towards immigrant women of Asian descent in this country, and stop the exploitative work environments so many are trapped in. Our vision is to provide an inclusive, prosperous transition to America for every immigrant woman, and help them to become self-sufficient entrepreneurs.

We are deeply saddened by the recent events in Atlanta.  The tragic murder of 7 innocent women in Atlanta massage parlors sheds light on the reality of many immigrant women's lives.  We live in a society that profits from fetishizing Asian women, as is revealed in the $2.5 billion illicit massage parlor industry. The majority of women who work in these businesses are newly arrived immigrant women from China, South Korea, and Vietnam, who speak little to no English and have children they are struggling to support. We need your help.

At RAI, we help newly arrived immigrant women overcome cultural and language barriers and gain self sufficiency and financial independence. Our artisans come primarily from Asian countries under similar circumstances to the women recruited to the massage parlor industry.

Our vision is to provide every immigrant woman with freedom and financial independence. But we need your help. We are currently seeking $25,000 to enroll ten more women in our medical scrub manufacturing training program, where they receive wages and critical skills they need to become respected and self-reliant citizens.

Please donate if you are able.

Only through your generosity can we limit the dehumanizing treatment of Asian immigrant women, prevent the exploitation and racism that so many baselessly endure, and sustain a prosperous environment for these women.

RAI stands with our AAPI community. Please stand with us against racism and hatred, and for the eventual freedom in which all women in America are accepted, respected, and empowered.

Donate today.

Thank you.
