Do you want to join me in making a difference?
I'm embarking on a 250-mile walk up through the Scottish Highlands from Fort William to Cape Wrath. I have been planning this trip for a while but wanted to make it worth while.
I hope to raise money in aid of Refuweegee; A charity which do incredible work in providing a warm welcome to forcibly displaced people arriving in Glasgow.
Here are some sums to show what it takes to support a life.
£5.60: Daily bus fare in Glasgow refunded, enabling people to access our services, including our free shop, and the ability to move around the city to do what they want – travel autonomy.
£18: Nappies and formula bundle for babies.
£25: Daily budget for our volunteer chefs in our community kitchen to prepare hot nutritious meal for 30 people to enjoy, for free, three days a week.
£50: A food parcel for a family of four to live on for a week while waiting for their allowance to be processed.
£61.80: Unlimited city-wide bus pass in Glasgow, removing financial barriers for asylum seekers.
£75: A family Christmas bundle: decorations, festive food, toys and gifts for all.
£100: petrol costs for our van which collects and delivers vital furniture and bulky items that make a house a home.
Every donation helps, thank you in advance for contributing to this cause; it means so much to me.
