The Reggae Boyz Supporterz Club, Inc. (RBSC) was established to provide support and assistance to Jamaica's Football. The idea of establishing a Supporters Club was born out of discussions on "Paul Marin's forum" and discussions by fans of Jamaica's Senior National Team at the national senior team's matches both inside and outside of Jamaica during the exciting and successful Rene Simoes' era of The Road to France 1998 World Cup campaign.
Continuing on the provision of support to the development of Jamaica's football The RBSC has initiated and engaged a MARCHING BAND to provide drumming and music performance at matches. Along with the foregoing the RBSC has added "giveaways", educational and community initiatives that assist in the development of Jamaican football .
At each of Jamaica's last three football matches The Marching Band performed. The RBSC has also given away 'player signed football boots'. The RBSC wishes to continue provision of those services to enhance the 'match day experience', complement the Reggae Boyz and Reggae Girlz on field performances and increase attendance at matches.
The band is managed by the "Great Ricky Trooper, the emperor of sound clashing and killing" and is directed by Mr Wong "the humble band leader". The significance of drumming in the Jamaican cultural sports paradigm, is to raise an alarm, a call to arms to stir up emotions for enjoyment, excitement or a battle. Drumming also signifies royalty and in this case, it is our Reggae Boyz and Reggae Girlz.
These band members are school children who consider it their national duty to support their national teams, and it comes with much enjoyment for them to do so. That said the GoFundMe assistance plays a vital role in community development by assisting these youth with social activities and supplemental income for education and other social needs.
Our GoFundMe initial target is United States Five Hundred and Fifty Dollars (US $550.00) equivalent to Jamaica Eighty Thousand Dollars ($80,000 JMD) or British Pound Four Hundred and Forty-nine (£449 GBP).
