Reggae Superstar Junior Byles Urgently Needs Help!
After the great Bob Marley split up with legendary producer Lee "Scratch" Perry in 1971, Scratch searched the island of Jamaica for a new reggae superstar. He ultimately decided that my father, Junior Byles, had the depth of vocal talent he was looking for. Known for his soulful, expressive voice and lyrics of deep concern for humanity... Junior gave us all-time reggae classic hits like "Beat Down Babylon," "Fade Away," "Curly Locks," "A Place Called Africa," and many rare singles still treasured by collectors.
My name is Christine Byles and I am the eldest of two daughters. It saddens me to tell you that my father is struggling in the inner city of downtown Kingston. He's suffered from serious illness for many years, leaving him penniless and unable to work, with no pension or health insurance. Up until now he's managed to scrape by with our family shouldering the cost of his basic living expenses.
But now, at the senior age of 70, Junior's medical challenges have steadily gotten worse. He's been in and out of the hospital more times than we can count.
Currently, he's suffering from an abnormal growth and doctors are not sure if its benign or malignant. His medical bills are piling up and creating constant stress.
If he can't pay them, he can't continue to access the treatment he needs to survive.
Junior Byles needs your help!
Even a little bit of hard currency can make a big difference in Jamaican dollars. Every donation will make a meaningful difference in his quality of life and give him more treatment options. Junior's life mission was to spread positive vibes through music: his message was to love your fellow man and trust in the Almighty. Now my family is hoping that reggae fans haven't forgotten about him and are willing to send some of those vibes back, full circle.
Please help Junior Byles get the peace of mind & medical care he needs by clicking on the orange "Donate Now" button on the right and helping as generously as you can. I solemnly swear that 100% of the donations of this GoFundMe campaign will be transferred directly to the account of my father, Junior Byles. And I will send you a personal thank you note to acknowledge your kindness.
You can also help Junior by sharing this link on Facebook, posting it online or emailing it to any reggae fans you know.
