Regino is Kicking Cancer's Butt!

Regino has worked for his restaurant for 43 years - FORTY-THREE YEARS! At 17, he started as a dishwasher and then became the best Sous Chef in the business and the best friend to everyone he knows. Just a few months ago, to inspire my staff during the busy holiday season when they were overworked and handling all of the challenges of this past year, I used Regino as the example of the one person we know who comes to work every day smiling, laughing, joking, and working without breaks. He will run through the kitchen working every station and in the middle, stop to pick something up and pretend he's playing the guitar just to make everyone laugh, then run back to the line and perfectly cook an entire meal. He has never been late, asked for time off and I've never, NOT ONE TIME, heard him complain. He brings joy with him every day and shares it with all of us.
In mid-January he was diagnosed with cancer which has spread into his bones. He is fighting it with the same strength, fortitude and humor he has always had. But his medical bills are piling up, and in addition, his long term disability requires a three-month gap from his last paycheck until it kicks in. He is facing spending three months with zero income. Let's fill in the gap, my friends!
