Rehabilitation for Doug-o Doug Sims
Donation protected
Where to start! I'm Doug- "Dougo's" sister, Debi Sims Noel. He's the youngest sibling in the family. At 58 years young, a very tragic medical event has happened to him on October 21st that has left him and we as a family devastated, in shock and heartsick to say the least. Our parents are 82 and 86. Please pray for them. We don't generally ask for help of any kind but today we're asking to please help if you can.
A little bit about Doug-o. He has been a pillar in our community for the past 28 years, from being a police officer, to coaching little league games, reffing games, working fundraisers for different events, volunteering, a City Council member for our town and "THE VOICE" behind Mountaineer Radio 93.1 The Mix at Eastern Oklahoma State College hosting "The Doug-O Show". If you've ever listened to this Station this is him and it's currently airing with his older recorded shows as he is not able to do that right now.
Here is what happened:
Doug was reffing a High School football game in late October, and got hit very hard and knocked down by a football player and he hit his head extremely hard on the ground. That injury created and caused a really bad stroke from what the Dr's has stated. He has been in the hospital since then. He has had a major surgery and is currently recovering.
What does Doug need?
Prayers!!! And finacial support if you can.
Prayers for his complete recovery, financial support medically and for his household income support as he can't work right now. He was a contract laborer for the College so he has no insurance through them or no income coming in due to he can't currently work. He is not married and has no children.
The medical expenses that comes with having a stroke is astronomical to say the least. ALL of the insurances, he had a private company, will be exhausted as of the first of Dec. Insurances have caps on when they will no longer help. Sooner care/Medicaid are the same in a situation like this. We've been working and looking at every avenue before coming here to ask for your help. He is gaining strength daily, but this is going to take time, energy and prayers. I'm not going to sugar coat this, he has alot of hardwork ahead of him and daily physical therapy is needed that is not only costly, but it takes time to rehabilitate from this. And yes! He can recover.
As a family we are at a crossroad on how to get him the physical therapy that he needs to completely recover from this tragic event due to the expense that it will endure. Since Doug is the only supporter of himself we also are dealing with his household expenses as well.
The old saying, It takes a village to raise a child, well Doug is in need of a village to help with medical/financial support AND prayers!! Any amount helps as it all adds up.
But please I can't beg you enough to PRAY. Please put him on your Church prayer list as well. Lots of people know him, or know of him and love him. Please help us to help him.
Thank you for all your prayers!!
And if you can give financially THANK YOU!! Every penny will be used for his rehabilitation and care that he needs.
PLEASE share this go fund me. TY!
May God Bless you in all that you do.
