Justice for Alex

We are #justiceforalex/#justiciaporalex and we have come together to raise money to help both Alex Ulloa Martinez and his family here in the US. In 2017, Alex was attending Huntington High School in Suffolk County, NY when he became a victim of racial profiling, prejudice, and ultimately, deportation. Prior to his deportation, Alex had hopes of furthering his education and pursuing a better life through asylum in the United States. Since learning more about the circumstances regarding Alex’s experiences, we have reached out to Alex’s family to learn more about the actions they have needed to take to protect their child. For the past two years, Alex’s family had racked up approximately $25,000 in costs relating, but not limited to: Legal fees, transportation costs, loss of wages, providing Alex with money while he was in immigration detention, and Alex’s cost of living in Honduras since his deportation.  

This family is very hard working and have done all they can to try to protect their son.

At this point, we believe it is vital to provide this family with some financial support to help alleviate the burden that has been placed on them.

If you are unable to donate at this time but still would like to show support for immigrants and asylum-seekers in the Huntington school community, please consider attending the Board of Education meeting at Jack Abrams at 7:30 PM on January 7, 2019 to voice your concerns.
