Reimagining the forgotten ceremonies in Central Europe
Donation protected
I research ceremonial practices in the geographical area of Central/Eastern Europe linked to the Slavic traditions. I raise funds to be able to spend my time researching and reviving lost traditions and cultural aspect of ceremonies, healing practices, and rites of passage in pre-Cristian era in this area. My main focus is to find out how were myths and storytelling used in communal rituals and if there were rituals with endemic mushroom species (p. bohemica and p. moravica) used for individual and communal healing. And if so, what did they look like?
I will use the funds to travel to different archives, to get texts and books needed, and to support myself to do this research full-time for next 6 months.
This project is closely linked to my mythology studies and was sparked by attending The Mythic Body course.
