Hi there, my name is Andrea.

By now I am sure a lot of you have heard about the house fire on Westside road early Monday morning on January 20th. Unfortunately, that was my families home. A family home owned by my grandparents Jim and Judy Battensby, who spent many safe and loving years in it. When their youngest child, my mom Shelley, struggled with physical limitations due to disability; they made it available for her to move in, as a way for them to offer a comfortable, easily accessible home that was close to them. So November of 2024, my mom and younger sister Tori packed, cleaned and moved into what they thought would be a forever home. They spent 3 short months, organizing, arranging, making it their own and finally settling in.. Only for one of the absolute worst things imaginable to happen.

At roughly 8am, they heard snapping and popping.. My mom looked outside to see the chimney on fire. Despite doing what they could with the fire extinguisher, the fire had already engulfed the inside of the roof and in mere minutes, the rest of the house quickly followed. While they are physically unharmed and were able to retrieve most of their animals, they weren't able to grab anything else. My mom and sister are now left without a home and without a single one of their possessions.

Unfortunately, this is beyond our families means, so I have created this gofundme as a way to hopefully raise funds to help with the cost of cleaning up the debris, lost wages, finding housing and to replace what is able to be replaced.
