Relief for Lee’s Medical Expenses

Hi, my name is Levi and this campaign was created to support my dear friend Lee and his family during a challenging and uncertain time.

As you may or may not know, Lee is facing severe medical complications affecting his heart and lungs. It began many months ago with fatigue and weakness of breath. This led to an unending series of doctor visits and specialist consultations which suggested a blood clot in his pulmonary artery. Between increasingly debilitating symptoms, further hospital stays and battles with the insurance company, it was soon escalated to an unconfirmed, but highly likely, cancer diagnosis. The tumor was growing fast and encroaching on his heart.

On February 15th, Lee underwent a complicated and dangerous surgery to remove the tumor. His pulmonary artery and one lung also had to be removed. Only hours after completion, the surgeons had to return and operate again to prevent air from leaking where the lung was removed. In the early hours of February 16th, Lee was readmitted to the ICU where he is currently recovering.

Lee and his family have shown tremendous strength throughout this process, trusting in God’s plan and only ever asking for prayers. Because of high deductibles and difficulties with insurance, they are already navigating unreconciled hospital bills. However, there is still a long road to recovery ahead that will likely involve on-going cancer treatments. Due to the rarity of his condition and the need for specialized care in Jacksonville, they also have lodging and travel expenses to contend with, as well as weeks and weeks of missed work.
