**Edit: We are so overwhelmed by the compassion and kindness that have poured in from family, friends, and even individuals who have never met Wai or Butch. Our hearts are overflowing with gratitude. Thank you all so much.**
Life took an unexpected turn when Butch (Gordon) was diagnosed with stage 4 esophageal cancer, which had tragically metastasized to his liver. Despite his fierce will to fight the battle, the diagnosis came too late for a chance at recovery. Little did we know he would only be here with us for a short few months more. Throughout his illness, he stayed positive and in good spirits while Wai remained his unwavering rock. Her faith was constant even in the face of such a devastating prognosis.
Butch and Wai had built a life together that was grounded in their strong Christian values and a commitment to helping others. Their love story was an inspiration to those around them, a true embodiment of what a partnership should be, a testament to faith, compassion, and unwavering support.
Butch was a hardworking man and worked until he physically couldn't. He had a heart of gold and was not just a beloved husband but also a cherished father, grandfather and pillar of the community. He was always the first to lend a helping hand, whether it was fixing a neighbor's roof or simply offering a kind word to those in need. His passing came as a shock to everyone who knew him, leaving a void that can never truly be filled.
Wai is a woman of incredible strength and grace and has always been the one to put others before herself. Her devotion to her family, friends, and faith has been the cornerstone of her life. Throughout their journey, she stood beside Butch, supporting him in his endeavors and spreading love wherever she went. Now, in the wake of his sudden departure, she finds herself facing not only the emotional turmoil of loss but also the daunting challenge of navigating the financial burden left behind.
With medical expenses, funeral costs, and the everyday bills that life brings, Wai is at a crossroads. She has always been hesitant to ask for help, even when she needed it most. But as a community that has been touched by her kindness, it's our turn to show her the same selflessness she has shown us.
By contributing to this fundraiser, you're not just providing financial assistance; you're sending a message of love and support to a woman who has exemplified these qualities in her own life. Your donation will help alleviate the immediate financial strain, giving Wai the time she needs to heal and rebuild. Whether you're able to give a little or a lot, a like or share, or even a few words of encouragement, your contribution will make a meaningful impact and remind her that she is not alone in this journey.
In times of sorrow and unexpected hardship, it's the strength of our community that helps us find the light amidst the darkness. Together, we can make a difference in the life of a woman who has given so much to others. Let's surround Wai with the love and support she truly deserves and rally together to honor Butch's memory and show Wai that her community stands with her, just as she has stood with us. Your support will be a beacon of hope, a testament to the power of unity during this difficult time.
With immense gratitude,
