Relief for Staff at Foundation Cafe / SF Tennis
Spende geschützt
Dearest Friends of Foundation Cafe at Bay Club SF Tennis,
As most of you know by now, last week – due to the sudden and drastic fallout surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak in the Bay Area – we were forced to close our doors and seize operations at Foundation Cafe for the first time in 7 years (on Kearny St.) and 2+ years (at our SF Tennis Club location).
As a small, family-operated business, this was very difficult for us to do. Our employees are like family to us, and although this closure is beyond anyone’s control at this point, we can’t help but feel like we’ve somehow let them down.
We employ a small, phenomenal team, and are continuing communications with each of them, making ourselves available to help them navigate access to local, governmental, and organizational resources as they’re being rolled out, and as we’re learning about them. The reality is that profit margins have always been slim in our business, and the folks in our industry live paycheck to paycheck. For an uncertain amount of time, there unfortunately just won’t be any checks coming in with the business shut down.
When Seth graciously reached out to us and mentioned a few members wanted to find a way to offer support to our team, we felt so thankful and blessed to be a part of your SF Tennis Club community. We’re proud of the relationships our team has fostered at the Club, and in effort to ensure that we’re doing everything we possibly can for our team, we’ve agreed to set up this GoFundMe for those that may wish to contribute.
We already can’t wait to get back to talking sports at the bar, bringing out meals USTA teams after their hard-fought battles on the court, and serving up our regulars’ favorites. Until then, all proceeds donated via this channel will go directly to our SF Tennis Club team to help out our crew. They could really use a little help, and anything helps (seriously!). We can’t thank you enough, and we hope to see you back at Foundation Cafe once we’re all past this. In the meantime, stay well!
Cordially,
Andie & Patrick
