Relief Fund for AL's Place Staff
Donation protected
Opening AL's Place was my life-long dream. I love the thing that food does to people -- bring them together. AL's Place was an effort to bring people together and this campaign is an effort to keep us together as we weather this crisis.
The community support we have received over the last five years has been astounding. It has allowed us to pursue our outlandish dreams and grow in ways we didn't know were possible.
Over the past week, I have been forced to layoff my entire staff, over 30 employees, as well as cut ties with many farmers, suppliers, and contractors that rely on our business for their own operations.
The livelihood of my staff depends on AL's Place being open and us operating at full capacity.
My team is truly the lifeblood of AL's Place and makes up the heart and soul of the experience we proudly provide to our guests night after night.
Unemployment benefits in San Francisco are sub-minimum wage and won't even cover the cost of rent for most of our employees, much less necessary household expenses like food or diapers.
I'm asking for your support to help my employees during this unprecedented crisis. I know that if we pull together as a community, that we can make it through this and emerge stronger than ever.
All donations will go towards supporting AL’s Place employees.
We look forward to seeing you when we reopen.
Thank you in advance for your support - Aaron
(To comply with Go Fund Me transparency requirements: I'm Aaron London, the Chef/owner of AL's Place. I'll be withdrawing the donated funds into a personal account and distributing donations to individual employees via check and bank transfer.)
