Help Ryan Beat Cancer

Donation protected
Ryan and Melissa are just beginning their life together! The devastating news they received at the beginning of January was nothing they ever predicted at Ryan's young age of 46! Needless to say, the last few weeks for Ryan and Melissa have been a whirlwind!

Ryan had been complaining about back pain. During the summer he went to the doctor and was treated for a pulled muscle. He was sent on his way with a steroid drug and was on the mend in a weeks time. After several more doctor visits for reoccurring pain, he was cleared and on the mend again. Months later, his pain was so severe that Melissa took him to the ER. After much further testing, Ryan was admitted to the hospital for 6 days and diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer that has already metastasized to his bones. They have  been busy researching cancer-fighting diets and working with doctors to determine the best treatment plan. We are all very hopeful that, with the right diet and lifestyle, along with powerful chemotherapy drugs and required hormone treatments, this will soon be behind them. Treatment is planned for this year and could be life long.

Monday is the first day of Ryan's chemotherapy treatments. At this time, Ryan does not have health insurance, and we'd love to assist them in finding some financial relief to ease some of the burden that will accrue throughout his treatments. Ryan has already endured a 6 day hospital stay with no insurance. They will be facing costs of chemotherapy treatments, hormone treatments, and travel expenses, going back and forth to New York City to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.  Maintaining employment is always an uncertainty.  It's a scary enough situation to have reality set in that you've lived with cancer without knowing, let alone having to worry about financial costs to treat it.

While Ryan continues to adapt to the punches that seem inevitable with cancer, we want to thank everyone in advance for any and all contributions you can give to help him fight through this journey.  We would also appreciate your willingness to share his story through your social media networks to gain an even bigger support team! #RyanStrong
