Relight the Space Beacon Campaign

Founded in 1996, the Space is an atmospheric, multi-purpose theatre set in a delightful and architecturally significant 19th century converted church.

The Space celebrates bright ideas, exciting new theatre-makers and electric events aimed at bringing people together. We connect our artistic community with audiences through post-show events, have a fun, cosy bar to meet in before the show and are one of the only London venues to still stream performances online. The Space is a beacon for new theatre, togetherness and unique experiences on the Isle of Dogs. 

Our aims and activities will include:-

Increased development of new writing and promising new playwrights

Daytime events and workshops in our café/bar

Connecting with other organisations and venues to increase access to our livestreams

Mentoring and residencies for associate theatre companies

Space to Create – a series of workshops aimed at early career artists

Movie nights, Baby Brunch and Games evenings

We want to provide you with more of what we do best – challenging artistic performances, fun social events like games nights and pub quizzes, artists support, online content and learning opportunities.
