Relocate Texas family to keep trans teen safe

Hello, my name is Laura. My husband Rito and I are incredibly proud parents of three beautiful children, one of whom is transgender. Unfortunately, Texas Governor Abbott has recently declared that gender-affirming parents of trans children are considered child abusers. This declaration puts our family at risk of potential CPS investigations, criminal prosecution, family separation, and even forced detransition. The situation has been further exacerbated by Senate Bill 14, which is set to take effect on September 1st. This bill will make it illegal for our son, Gabe, to access the gender-affirming care he needs, including medication to prevent female puberty. Gabe has been living as a male for over two years under the guidance and care of specialized medical professionals. Being forced to detransition would have a devastating impact on his mental health and well-being. This legislation has the potential to forever alter our lives and cause immeasurable harm to our entire family.

In light of the clear message from Texas politicians that they do not support families like ours, we have made the difficult decision to seek a new home where our children can be safe and accepted. It breaks our hearts to leave behind the only home our children have ever known, but our top priority is ensuring their well-being. With this in mind, I have created this GoFundMe campaign in the hopes that some of you may be able to assist us in alleviating the financial burden associated with moving to a new state. Our current goal is to raise $15,000, (updated to $25,00) which will be used to cover expenses such as vehicle repairs to ensure a safe journey, gas costs, and to help us settle into our new home securely.
