CABARRUS COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A Concord man was killed after wind caused a large shed to collapse on Zion Church Road in Cabarrus County Friday evening.

Fire officials say the shed collapsed behind a home after the wind blew the structure and shifted it causing it to collapse with the victim, his wife and a friend inside.

Officials later identified Brad Benton, 28, as the deceased in this accident. Benton, a father of two and US military veteran, was working inside of the shed when it collapsed.

Leslie Benton, his wife, told WBTV that Benton, ‘lived and breathed for me and those kids'. Benton’s family and friends gathered at the home on Saturday and burned the remainder of the structure so that it could not serve as a reminder of the incident to his children.
