It’s been four years since tragedy struck on the Marysville-Plichuck High School campus.
This event crippled the Marysville community in many ways and the effects are still being felt.
Every year since the event, we have run a workout to remember the lives lost and to bring awareness for continued emotional support to the students and staff at MPHS.
We believe that physical fitness is a healthy outlet and stress management tool for those still dealing with the psychological trauma of the event.
Many services and programs are available for those seeking help. We believe that providing a quality fitness facility and environment could be a potent supplement to already existing programs.
CrossFit Marysville has run a memorial workout and fundraiser each year since the event to raise awareness and funds to help the community and families affected by the event.
This year, we would like to turn our focus to a lasting recovery effort that will benefit students and staff at MPHS for years to come.
Fitness has brought so many positive and healing benefits to our lives that we believe it’s our responsibility to provide the same opportunity to others.
We have set up a GoFundMe account and will be using any funds raised to purchase fitness equipment for the MPHS fitness facility.
We hope to continue this tradition and help to provide a safe and inviting atmosphere for those seeking a healthy method of coping.
We will be running the memorial workout on October, 24th and invite all of you to join us in an act of remembrance and charity to support our community.
