Remembering Austin Driver

Austin Driver, 19, originally from St. Louis, MO but most recently living in Oxford, MS passed away from an unknown illness while traveling with his family in Puerto Rico.

Austin was a Lindbergh High School 2021 Alumni and was currently attending the University of Mississippi, fondly known as "Ole Miss." He was an avid Ole Miss fan but more importantly, a devout man of Christ. He was a team player on and off the field, giving words of encouragement to all who needed them. He never gave up on anyone and left an impression on everyone he met. He never met a stranger and his warm, contagious smile will always be remembered.

The sudden loss of a child is unfathomable. Still, Austin's loss continues to be proven harder (logistically, financially and emotionally) since his passing was in a country outside the domestic United States. The family is too humble to ask but has permitted me to create this page, should you feel inclined to help. The Drivers face unexpected healthcare costs because they were not in a US hospital, and insurance is not expected to cover the hospital or death expenses. It's these type of "things" we don't come to know, expect or recognize when traveling abroad until situations like this come, and you realize just how much more difficult this has been on Debbie and Mark than it already was.

Debbie and Mark also relocated from St. Louis to Oxford last year when Austin came to Ole Miss.
