Remembering Allan Kuster - An Incredible Father

Donation protected

All proceeds go directly to The Aspergillosis Trust (https://aspergillosistrust.org), a charity dedicated to helping patients with aspergillosis; the same unique disease my father battled in the last years of his life. Our goal is to help spread awareness for this currently incurable disease and encourage research into rare lung diseases just like this one, all while celebrating Allan's awe-inspiring life.

Hello,

My name is Kyle Kuster, the youngest son to Allan Kuster. In July 2021, my father tragically and suddenly passed away at the age of 60 due to immune system complications caused by Aspergillosis, a rare fungal lung disease. He was the most energetic and positive person I have ever met, and to see his condition decline over the span of a couple years was incredibly difficult; not only for me, but for my brother Kristofer, my sister Kasidy, and my mother Michelle. Not much is known about the disease that affected his life, therefore finding effective doctors and treatment proved near impossible. To lose my father to something unknown felt unfair to all of us. In honor of my incredible dad, we are holding a fundraiser to encourage Aspergillosis research and also help those affected by the disease. As part of the fundraiser, I will be running a 6K a few days before his birthday (Oct 10), with an Aspergillosis Trust t-shirt to spread awareness about the cause. One more gesture of love and appreciation to my incredible father.

It's proven very difficult for me to write about my father in ways that truly expressed his unique character, but thankfully, every memory and feeling I have towards him has always been positive. He was truly the best father a son or daughter could ask for, and we will forever be grateful for everything he's done. He was an amazing husband to my mother Michelle, always bringing home flowers and finding ways to sweep her off her feet, even after 30 years of marriage and friendship. Allan expressed his love to us kids in both small and large gestures, taking us for drives in his 70s BMW or surprising us with a trip to the fair. He was always truly interested in everything going on in our lives, whether that be the math test I took yesterday or the new friend Kasidy made. My dad was always there for anyone in need, giving the jacket off of his back multiple times to the cold homeless. He made sure my brother, sister and I were all set up to be successful, compassionate, loving human beings, just as he was. While these times without him have proven to be very difficult, it's refreshing to know how positive of an impact he had on the world and his family. Knowing his strong faith, he is surely looking down on all of us, keeping a watchful and protective eye over his family and friends.

We love you and miss you so much, Dad.
