Remembering Barbara Appleby

Donation protected
Please join us to celebrate and memorialize our beloved friend, daughter and sister, Barbara Appleby.

There will be a service Sunday, September 29 at 2 p.m., followed by a light meal. It's being held at the Carondelet Center, 1890 Randolph Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105.

Barbara Appleby was passionate about connecting with people. She always paid attention (she had great listening skills)  to the thoughts, feelings and behaviors of her family, friends and colleagues. This was one of the generous gifts of service she gave to us.

This connection to people was enhanced by Barbara's insistence on living her highest self, speaking her truth and living courageously.  In June 2018 she wrote, "I have experience with coming out -- but you probaby already know that I'm gay. You probably do not know that I have bipolar disorder. I feel no shame for who I am, mental illness included."

One way to honor Barbara is to raise some funds for areas dear to her (she was, after all, the ultimate fundraiser).  So if you would like to make a donation in honor of Barbara, we'll direct those funds, at a later date, to causes that she supported during her life include supporting LGBTQ lives, mental health, public media and St. Catherine's Women's Resource Center.

Your prayers and generosity are very much appreciated.

Warmly,

Barbara's friend and colleague,
