Remembering Bob Albrecht: A Community Leader and Volunteer

Donation protected
The North Andover community has suffered a profound loss this week with the passing of Bob Albrecht, who fought courageously against cancer. Bob was a cornerstone of our community, touching the lives of thousands in ways both seen and unseen.
For decades, Bob devoted himself tirelessly to the youth and elderly of North Andover. He was a coach, a mentor, an official, a caretaker, and a friend to so many. Whether you knew him personally or not, his impact on this town is immeasurable.

Coach Bob selflessly volunteered to coach wrestling, baseball, basketball, football with most of those years not having his own children on the teams. If you participated in youth sports in North Andover, chances are he guided you on the field or court.

Administrator Bob spent countless hours serving on boards and managing programs that benefited youth sports, ensuring these activities ran smoothly for generations.

Umpire and Referee Bob officiated games across multiple sports, including lacrosse, basketball, baseball, and softball, leaving his mark on players from youth leagues to high school.

He could often be found maintaining and upgrading athletic fields like McEvoy and Carl Thomas, ensuring they were ready for play. Every game played on these fields carries his dedication and care.

In his professional role with the North Andover Housing Authority, Bob worked tirelessly to support the elderly—plumbing, snowplowing, and handling countless other tasks that ensured their comfort and safety. If your loved ones lived in the housing community, Bob’s commitment touched their lives in meaningful ways.

Above all else, Bob was a devoted son, husband, and father of three. He worked tirelessly to support his family while sacrificing his personal time to give back to the community he loved so much. Those who knew him will forever remember his booming laugh, his larger-than-life spirit & passion, and the warmth he brought to every interaction.

We invite you to contribute to this GoFundMe campaign to honor Bob’s memory and support his family through this challenging time. Every donation, no matter the size, is a way to say "thank you" to a man who gave so much to all of us.

This fundraiser was established and organized by fellow volunteers, coaches, and friends of Bob.
