Remembering Cassie Medina

To say I'm heartbroken would be a massive understatement. The world lost someone very special on March 1, 2023. My sister-in-law, Cassie Medina, passed away just a couple days after her 30th birthday and a few weeks after giving birth to a beautiful baby girl. She is survived by her loving husband, Josh, two daughters, Mila and Rosalie, and her mother, Kelly.

Life can be cruel and unfair. In Cassie's case, it was definitely both. Cassie developed a blood infection during her pregnancy that went undiagnosed for an unknown amount of time. The infection resulted in damage to her heart valves that required surgery to repair. Sadly, shortly after surgery, the worst possible outcome happened.

Anyone lucky enough to have met Cassie knows how much dimmer the world is now. She was such a bright light and a truly beautiful person inside and out. Cassie always put others ahead of herself. She was the epitome of kindness and grace. I can't believe she's gone. My heart breaks for my brother and my nieces.

I'm trying to raise money to help Josh with various expenses such as funeral costs and medical bills, as well as the costs associated with adjusting to life without Cassie (i.e., childcare, etc.).
