Remembering Cat's Kind Heart: A Memorial Fund
Donation protected
We are reaching out to the community to help honor and celebrate the life of Kathy “Cat” Marlene Cantin, a remarkable woman whose legacy of love, kindness, and resilience deserves a proper memorial and cremation. Cat, who passed away recently, was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend—someone whose presence brightened the lives of everyone around her. She leaves behind her 3 sons Donovan Michael, Richie and Arlo Cantin.
Cats health journey over the past few years was difficult. Four years ago, she entered a care facility after struggling with a clot in her lung. Her health continued to decline, especially after the onset of COVID, which left her bedridden and unable to receive the support she needed. Over time, dementia took its toll, and she faced many challenges, including difficulty speaking and eating. Despite these struggles, Cat’s spirit remained strong, and her love for life never wavered.
Cat was a true original—an "OG" of the East Side, known for her independent spirit, love of motorcycles, and vibrant personality. She had a passion for life, whether it was cruising around town in her car, jamming out to Mötley Crüe or Prince, or spending time with her beloved grandchildren. She was a true animal lover and cherished the little things in life, from chocolate to wrestling, and her unwavering faith in God.
More than anything, Kat was a woman of her word. She promised a dear friend, on
his deathbed, to take care of his daughter, Sammy, and she kept that promise for years, offering her love, support, and guidance. Cat was known for her generosity, always giving—whether it was something she picked up at the food bank or a treat for her grandkids. Her heart was big, and she made sure those around her felt it.
We are asking for your help to give Cat the dignified memorial she deserves. Donations will go towards covering the costs of her cremation and memorial services. Any contribution, big or small, will make a difference and help ensure that Cat’s life is properly honored. Thank you for supporting her final journey, and for helping us celebrate the life of a woman who gave so much to so many. Rest in love Kathy “Cat” Marlene Cantin 9/1/53-11/29/24.
