Remembering Curtis Bailey

Donation protected
With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of Curtis Bailey who passed away in a fatal helicopter crash on Vancouver Island Thursday August 15, 2024.
Curtis, 28, followed his dream of becoming a helicopter pilot in 2021, working most recently for West Coast Helicopters. He had a deep love for his wife (and their dog-baby Nala), family, and friends. He was well-known for his kindness, sense of humor, and his love of flying. He lived life to the fullest and was always up for something new whether it was hiking, climbing, scuba diving, rugby, traveling or taking on home renovations. But arguably the best thing about Curtis is that he led with his heart.

The cause of the crash remains unknown at this time as there is still an ongoing investigation. Ashley is currently making celebration of life preparations. We will be using this Gofundme as a way to communicate updates with everyone as Curtis has had an impact in many peoples lives all over Canada.

I am organizing this fundraiser in honor of our friend, Curtis Bailey, and in support of his wife and our friend Ashley Garnett, who is the beneficiary of all donations received. Many people have reached out asking how they can help, the only thing Ashley wants right now is more time off work. The funds received will be used to provide financial relief for Ashley as she has her own business as an IT contractor and therefore has no paid time off or bereavement leave. Unfortunately, this leaves Ashley with 2 mortgages, renovations to finish, ongoing bills and celebration of life costs - any blessing you can give will be a great help and comfort to her during this time of loss.

She would like to make it clear that your emotional support means the world to her and there is no obligation to help financially. If she finds she doesn’t use all the financial help, she will donate the money to a cause Curtis cared about.

Fundraiser organized on behalf of Curtis's wife, Ashley Garnett.
