Remembering Curtis James Rhoden III
Curtis James Rhoden III, my little brother, was the light in any room he entered. He was a brother, a friend, a mentor, a teacher, an inspiration, a shoulder to lean on...and great at every single one. Whether you knew him as Curt, Burt, Curt Curt, C.J., Obama, or anything else you knew that he was a force to be reckoned with and one of the most genuine people to ever walk this Earth.
Curtis will be remembered for his greatness in nearly everything he decided to take on. He will be remembered by those who wrestled, rode bikes of any kind, skateboarded, and just hung out with him. He shared great experiences with people from all over the world. He is truly a legend.
Curtis was tragically taken from us all in an accident while riding his motorcycle, which we all know he loved dearly, around 2 a.m. August 1st. He was only 23 years old and just beginning to live his life fully, the way he wanted to.
My mother, Jennifer London, and I lost my grandmother Mickey just a week and a half prior; and together were planning her memorial with Curtis before he passed. Curtis and I were both very close to our granny and my mother was an only child. Losing them both has taken a toll on us and our journey to healing will surely be long.
No family plans for this kind of loss and while my grandmother's sudden passing was difficult for us all, Curtis' passing is something we definitely couldn't be prepared for. Our entire family is suffering greatly, but greatly appreciate the immense outpouring of love and support. We'd like to host this account so that all of the people that Curtis touched are able to donate in confidence as they please.
