Remembering Curtis Lind; Forcibly taken from us too soon
Donation protected
It is with deep heartache we announce the passing of Curtis Lind at the age of 82. On January 17th, 2025 Curtis was viciously attacked in front of his property in Vallejo, California, resulting in his death. As of this post, January 19th 2025, his murderer is still at large.
As some of you may know, Curtis was the victim of a previous unprovoked violent attack on November 13th, 2022 at the age of 80, by three young adults on his Vallejo property. He miraculously survived being stabbed multiple times, had a sword impaled through his chest and ultimately lost his right eye.
A year after his unbelievable recovery he was in a severe car accident that cracked multiple ribs and left him with other injuries. Against all odds Curtis once again defied all expectations and recovered. His constant resilience and determination to live his life to the fullest was second to none. He was a man who no matter how many times he was knocked down always got back up and continued to try and see the positive in life. No matter his trials or tribulations he saw beauty in the world and remained positive.
Curt, as he was known by his family and friends, was a father to two loving children, Dina and Carl, and the grandfather of 4. He was generous with what he had to help a friend or a stranger in need. He actively participated in cleaning his local neighbourhood and beachfront, taking pride in doing his part to better his local community in Vallejo. Curt found joy in interesting conversations with anyone he came across. He was the type of man who could easily engage in a conversation with a complete stranger and leave with a new friend. Curt had a deep love of the ocean and lived many years on boats and ships he refurbished himself.
Curt loved life and everything it had to offer.
His murder was a senseless act. He was a senior citizen trying to live his life to the best of his abilities despite how much he was going through physically and mentally after being attacked 2 years ago. After surviving such a violent and traumatic event, Curt’s medical expenses exceeded expectations and left him unable to completely recover financially.
Your donations will be used to ease the financial burden of funeral costs, legal fees and the fulfilling of Curtis’ final wishes. Curt’s family lives far away from Vallejo, with his daughter living outside US. With the ongoing court case, from the 2022 attack, and the future court case, once the murderer is apprehended, travel related expenses will be significant.
Every donation, regardless of the size, is greatly appreciated during this difficult time as the family grieves the sudden loss of Curtis Lind. We know times are tough for many right now and even if you are unable to donate please share this post on your social media platforms as it would help immensely.
Thank you for reading and for any support that you can give. We appreciate your kindness and support during this unprecedented time in our lives.
- The family of Curtis Lind
**Donations exceeding what is required for funeral, legal and travel necessities will be donated to one of the many victim services in Solano County in Curt’s memory
