Remembering Daniel Joseph Palmer
Donation protected
No mother should ever have to say good-bye to her only son. Sadly, this was the tragic, shocking and heartbreaking case for Daniel Joseph Palmer’s mom, when he suddenly and unexpectedly died on Friday May 3, 2019 at the age of 27.
Daniel was a kind, caring, loving soul to his mother, friends and family. He is survived by his mother Cathy Ferren, aunts, uncles, cousins, and especially his dear friend and mentor Jerry Pevner from Big Brothers of Toronto. Daniel was predeceased by his father in 1999.
Cathy, family and friends will dearly miss Daniel with his dry wit, and passion for trains, planes, tanks, coin collecting, British sit coms, Henrietta’s chocolate chip shortbreads, and good panzerotti.
A brilliant young man, Daniel graduated from the University of Toronto with distinction, with a BA in History. He attained a Masters Degree in Aboriginal Treaties at the University of Saskatchewan at Saskatoon, and was back at U of T, working on a Masters in Information Sciences.
In spite of his great passions and successes, Daniel suffered severely and chronically from ADHD, anxiety and deep depression, all of which he hid from everyone, using his intelligence, kindness and endearing sense of humour.
Unfortunately, depression kept Daniel from being able to make sound financial decisions. He left no life insurance, and had not worked long enough to even qualify for CPP death benefits.
Daniel’s mom desperately needs our donations to fund his final expenses. Please help Cathy at a time when she should be allowed to grieve and mourn the loss of her son, without the extra pain and worry of financial hardship.
You can pay tribute to Daniel by making a GoFundMe donation and then sharing this page with your network. Daniel’s mom would greatly appreciate it. She well understands that money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps her get closer to her goal!
On behalf of Cathy Ferren and Daniel Palmer, we thank you in advance for your love, kind thoughts & wishes, and generous donations.
